Our origins: building community from the heart
The United Congolese Association (UCA) was founded out of a deep desire to bring the Congolese community in Cavan together, fostering a strong sense of belonging, especially for young people and families far from home. Witnessing the challenges of integration, isolation, and the inherent need for cultural connection inspired us to create a welcoming space where individuals could feel supported, valued, and proud of their identity. At the same time, we aimed to build positive relationships within the wider Irish community.
UCA began as a small initiative, driven by passion and community spirit. It has since grown into a vibrant platform that actively promotes unity, empowerment, and cultural exchange through engaging activities, dynamic events, and dedicated youth engagement. We are committed to making Cavan a more united and welcoming place for everyone.
